Looking for wool rovings for spinning, felting or needle felting? Look no further. We offer these coloured wool rovings in 50g and 100g and identified for spinning/felting or just for felting. We source our rovings from a variety of places and the mircron value will vary. We aim to keep the micron value between 18-30 microns. As tis is the most suitable for knitting accessories and garments.

Micron values are marked.

The micron value is the diameter of one wool fibre. This means higher the micron, thicker the diameter of the wool and heavier the weight of the finished garment. Finer wool means a softer touch and less itchy. Usually the thicker the micron, the more durable and warmer the wool fleece is.

Microns of 25 and above are usually used for outer layer clothes such as wool sweaters, jumpers, scarves, wool blankets etc.

Typically, 20 microns and below are used for garments next to skin such as wool base layers, super base layers, wool underwear, wool socks, wool tank tops, etc. However you can use below 20 microns for outer layers.
