Meaghan Bambar is a handloom weaver, and after 30 years, still has endless passion for making cloth - a wondrous transformation of yarn into fabric, for scarves, shawls and blankets.
Meaghan uses mostly natural fibres (Australian wool and cotton) on an 8 shaft Jack loom, made in Tasmania, of Tasmanian timber.
She likens her weaving to painting with yarn, and each piece reflects something she has heard, dreamt or seen: perhaps a feather, a tempestuous sky or a field in harvest.
