As of 14 April we are now stocking malabrigo yarn and books. I have selected Rios, Silk Merino and Sock as the shop yarns and we have pattern support as well.  malabrigo is a family owned yarn company located in Uruguay who have developed a line of hand-dyed yarns of incredible softness and wonderful colour variations. malabrigo products are made out of the softest fibres available and inspired by nature, as well as landscapes, places, art and day-to-day life. Pilling

We are regularly asked 'Will this jumper pill?"  We have to respond that it is a possibility. Pilling is a complex phenomenon. pilling can occur with most fabrics.  Pilling (sometimes referred to as bobbling) is the formation of fuzzy balls on the surface of the sweater, and often results in an unsightly or worn out appearance. The primary drivers of pilling are the physical characteristics of the textile (including both the initial fibre, and the way in which it is processed during manufacturing), the personal habits of the textile's wearer, and the environment in which the textile is used.  It happens when washing and wearing of fabrics causes loose fibers to begin to push out from the surface of the cloth, and, over...

Using our website

Wanting to find something on our website. Don't despair. I am looking at reworking our website, in that parallel universe of time somewhere out there. But until then here are some useful tips for looking for items. I find the best way to search and see what we have on the online shop is toselect the search icon, then put in the term related to what you want to find. Some examples might be  a broad term eg sock. This will return stock that uses Sock somewhere in the descriptor more generic term eg sock yarn or sock pattern specific term rialto sock yarn.
