A unique spinning festival, the SpinIN is held every second year and celebrates fibre arts of spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting and associated fibre crafts. In 2017 it will be held on 3rd and 4th March. You can travel from Hobart or look to stay closer. If wanting to stay closer then I suggest you book now.
To participate in full it is worthwhile to enter some of the competitions. For more information on how to participate in full visit bothwellspinin.com.au or check out their facebook page.
With international, national and state guests there is the opportunity to build your skills and knowledge through peer association and to learn about similar activities in other cultural contexts.
Bothwell SpinIN is also the home of the Guinness Book of Records listed Longest Thread Competition that attracts entries from across the world. This produces 10gms of wool fleece spun and plied to the longest length possible. How fine of a spinner are you - this is a competition to test your skills!
Something not to be missed in 2017 is the tribute to Val Payne breeder of the Rongrove Collection
