The Aros Sweater is worked from the top down. First, the yoke is worked back and forth on circular needles, while the neckline is being shaped, then the work is joined to be worked in the round. The yoke is constructed with shoulder increases on both right side and wrong side rows on the first section. On the next section increases are worked on the sleeves only, and on the final section classic raglan increases are worked on both body and sleeves. The rib neck edge is worked at the end from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck edge. The neck edge is folded and sewn over. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or on long circular needles using the Magic Loop technique.

Aros Sweater has stripes in 7 different colors. The sweater can also be worked in one color or in stripes in fewer colors.

If you want to knit an Aros Dress instead of an Aros Sweater, extend the body of the sweater simply to dress length.

Size guide

The Aros Sweater is designed to have approx. 5 cm [2 inches] of positive ease. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ inches]. The measurements for the finished sweater can be found on the front page of the pattern (note that these measurements are only achieved if the design is knitted in the correct gauge). Measure yourself before beginning your project, to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm [35½ inches] around your bust (or around the widest part on your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 95 cm [37½ inches] which in the given example would give you 5 cm [2 inches] of positive ease. Schematics can be found here.

If you extend the sweater to dress length, the ease around the hips should be 0 cm [0 inches] or more.
