This class will unravel the mysteries of Fair Isle /Stranded Colourwork knitting whilst you knit a headband. Once complete you will be able to tackle other Fairisle / Stranded Colourwork projects with confidence.
Duration: 3 x 2 hours. Classes are held on 8th,15th and 22nd May. 6.00pm - 8.00pm at Salamanca Wool Shop
In the class you will learn how to manage multiple strands of yarn (in one hand or two), techniques for carrying and catching floats, and how to read colourwork charts. We will also touch on colour theory, demonstrate colour dominance and discuss how to choose the right yarn for projects. You will be taught and use the provisional cast on and tubular bind off for this project.
Skill level: Knitters who are comfortable with casting on and off, knit and purl stitches and knitting in the round will enjoy this class.
You will receive:
- Pattern and instruction
- 4 balls of Spindrift – Jamiesons of Shetland. As part of the class you will choose your colours.
You will need to supply:
- 2 x 2.50mm 40cm circular needles
- 1 x 3.50mm 40cm circular needles
- 3.00mm crochet hook
- Wool needle for sewing up
- 6 Stitch markers

Classes are not eligible for the loyalty discount.
If the minimum class number of 3 is not achieved the class will be cancelled. This decision will be made 3 days out from the class. Monies will be refunded or you can choose to reschedule to the next suitable class or take a gift card for use at a later date.
Once the minimum number has been reached, registration for the class can continue until 24 hours before the class starts.
If you find you have to cancel your class and it is more than 7 days before the first session, you will receive a full refund. If it is between 7 and 3 days you can either receive a store credit or register for another class. If it is within 3 days of the first session, you will not be able to receive a refund or a store credit.
Unfortunately, if you miss a class, there will be no available make-up classes. You will be able to attend the next class 15 minutes ahead of time so that you can be given some individual instruction.
